Where to shop for your dancer

A question we often hear from parents who have just enrolled their child in dance is “What should my child wear to class?” and “Where can I get these items?” We are here to help!

First thing is the basics. For their first class, your child should be wearing active wear that they’d be comfortable moving and stretching in. Nothing that restricts movement, and nothing too loose or too tight. Kids with longer hair should also have their hair tied up so it won’t be in their face.

Some classes require specific outfits such as a leotard, tights or ballet shoes. For those we have some local places that have what you need!

Two local Colorado businesses we recommend for dancewear would be:

Harts Dancewear

7703 Ralston Rd, Arvada, CO 80002

And Penny-Robin Dancewear

2600 W Main St, Littleton, CO 80120

A great place to go for pointe shoe fitting is:

Boulder Body Wear

2850 Arapahoe Rd #104, Lafayette, CO 80026

If you’re more of an online shopper, we also have some options:

Target is a great place for little ballerinas to find leotards and other ballet accessories.

Payless is a great budget friendly place for tap and ballet shoes!

We also carry items at our studio such as tights, and activewear. Check out our dress code tab at https://www.dreamdancestudios.com for a more specific list of what to wear for each class!
